Spalting is present naturally in mango hardwood and it is this that produces the kaleidoscope effect in the colours that you see in the timber ndash the softer, golden brown heartwood and the lighter yellow outer wood that, when considered, complement each other to great effect. The round inner grain of the timber is reflected both in the top platform and the upward turned base section this offers an attractive parity to the design.
